The project features a 690MW solar array and a 380MW battery system capable of storing more than 1,400 megawatt hours of solar power. Gemini is scheduled to be constructed on federal land 25 miles (40 kilometers) north of Las Vegas by the end of 2023.
The project is designed to produce low-cost renewable power for Nevada and is projected to bring over $450 million of financial stimulus to the state’s economy. All of Gemini’s output is covered by a 25 year Power Purchase Agreement with NV Energy, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway.
