Quinbrook’s Monumental Project Gemini Receives Multiple Awards
Infrastructure Investor and IJGlobal both recognized Quinbrook for its October 2022 sale of a 49 percent minority stake in its US$1.2 billion Gemini Solar + Storage project to APG, the largest pension asset manager in the Netherlands, on behalf of its pension fund client ABP.
Located just outside of Las Vegas, Nevada, Gemini is currently the largest solar and storage project under construction in the US. With 690 MWac of solar plus a 1,416 MWh battery storage facility, Gemini is expected to generate enough clean energy to power more than 400,000 homes during peak periods and displace 1.5 million metric tons of CO2 annually once it’s complete and operational later this year.
The annual Infrastructure Investor and IJGlobal Awards both focus on highlighting excellence in the infrastructure arena. The recognition from Infrastructure Investor is a culmination of a broad-based voting process among industry participants, including peers and institutional investors, while IJGlobal Awards are voted on by an independent panel of judges.
Project Finance International (PFI) Awards 2022 – Sponsor of the Year

US$1 billion sale of its portfolio company, Scout Clean Energy, to Brookfield Renewable; the launch of the US$2.5bn ‘Supernode’ data storage project in Brisbane, one of the largest permit-approved data storage campus projects in the Southern Hemisphere to be powered by renewables and battery storage; and its project debt financing to back its four synchronous condenser projects in Scotland totaling £220m.
