Quinbrook’s recognition as Investor of the Year, APAC and Fund Manager of the Year, APAC reflect the firm’s diverse, successful and large-scale projects in Australia. This includes the ‘Supernode’ battery storage project, which is believed to be the largest Battery Energy Storage System (“BESS”) project under construction in Australia on an energy capacity basis. In 2024, Quinbrook signed two offtake agreements for Supernode with Origin Energy for the full 1500MWhs BESS capacity of its first two stages of the project. Earlier this year, Quinbrook also announced that it is sponsoring the evaluation and testing of the largest magnetite deposit in Queensland for the proposed Green Iron Project, which can be powered by Quinbrook’s renewables portfolio, as well as unveiled Project Green Poly, which is slated to establish one of Australia’s first integrated mine-to-manufacturing polysilicon supply chains.

IJInvestor also recognised Quinbrook for its landmark Gemini Solar + Storage Project – the largest co-located solar plus BESS project in the US – which became fully operational in 2024. Gemini is made up of 1.8 million solar panels that can generate up to 690 megawatts and includes 380 megawatts of battery energy storage, providing clean, affordable electricity for Las Vegas and surrounding communities in Nevada, meeting approximately 10 percent of the state’s peak power demand. In March, Quinbrook announced that 51 percent of the project was acquired by the $600 million Quinbrook Valley of Fire Fund, with Blackstone Strategic Partners and Ares Management Infrastructure Secondaries funds as lead investors. Quinbrook’s U.S. portfolio company, Primergy Solar, developed and operates Gemini.

The annual IJInvestor Awards recognize best-in-class fund raising and deployment, as well as M&A activity in the energy and infrastructure sector. The submissions are reviewed and judged by an international committee made up of established professionals in the energy and infrastructure world.
