CEDG IL’s portfolio totals 15MW of assets located at local schools, waste water treatment plants, and municipal agencies in southern Illinois. The projects were completed under budget and are fully contracted under 25-year, fixed-priced PPAs. The projects also benefit from 15-year Renewable Energy Credit contracts and are eligible for utility-based inverter rebates.
By being outfitted with solar energy, the schools also benefit from an environmental education component with regular class tutorials concerning the technical function and benefits of solar energy technology. The schools also benefit from co-located generation, as there are additional efficiencies and cost savings from behind-the-meter delivery of solar power through reduced transmission costs and additional revenues for the schools through leasing of property to accommodate the solar assets.
